New Rank for Server

i was wondering if a new rank would ever be implemented into the servers code? If so, we could discuss the powers etc. here.

Hmm i was thinking a rank for artists/programmers of the site. like, they would only recieve commands like !data and !warn, no mute etc.

They would more be a status, like the badges in the smogon forums

Unfortunatley, we are not able to create custom ranks. The only thing we can do is make a symbol popup and a name. We are not able to implement certain commands for ranks. Essentially, you would be a regular user with a symbol, nothing else. The same goes for custom colors and custom battle music. All of that is client based

Hate to beat down on you Brittle, but I'll explain.

We can add custom ranks however they would not be as implemented as other ranks. One thing that would occur would they wouldn't be properly listed which isn't a huge issue. We can create and apply certain commands to them and give them different authority, though.

One of the issues with new commands is that we base them off two principles, good users and staff. Staff being Driver and higher, and good users being Voice. The issue with a rank for a certain group means that everyone will try and get it. Labelling good and bad artists isn't nice, and giving those who maybe fantastic artists the ability to warn (which can be annoying if abused) and they themselves maybe bad users... not a great idea.

The thing with new ranks is that the PS Development team (Main so Zarel etc) have got a great setup that covers all areas in my eyes. Sure, specific areas would be neat but it would only really be to 'highlight' them as what they can do, so artists etc.

These kinds of things is where trainer cards work well. You get one and you can add what you want not just a motto. Feel free to do a short sentence and one of your graphics and people can see your stuff.

Thanks for suggestion. Like others, although it isn't out of mind, as is, it probably isn't the best way to go.
