★Idea For a New Battle Format★

So here is the idea: instead of a battle requiring two players to start, there must be four players before a match can begin. Each player can only have a team consisting of three pokemon, most likely all of the OU tier and below. When the battle starts, the four players would be randomly placed into teams. Two people each using a team of three pokemon would form a whole team of six. Now this battle would act as a somewhat normal double battle, however one player may not swap out his/her pokemon with one of the three that their team mate brought to the battle. A no explosion/selfdesctruct/memento all of those moves that involve fainting your own pokemon to prevent people from purposely making their team mate lose to drag down their rank. I believe that this battle format would encourage teamwork in the community. I'd be glad to hear some feedback, so if you like it, or hate it, just post a response and I'll be happy. a similar idea has been brought forward before
the problem is that it would be difficult to script; it would require a re-writing of much of the battle engine. i believe this has been brought to zarel before, and i believe it is on his eventual to-do list, but don't expect anything anytime soon
