Professor Stein's Week Long Decent Into Madness Empty Professor Stein's Week Long Decent Into Madness

Post by Franken Ştein Fri Sep 20, 2013 2:06 pm

Okay, I'll be spending Seven Days, That's roughly 168 hours, with absolutely no sleep, Minimal Coffee intake, three cups as opposed to my functionable Six cups a day. So far I'm experiencing lightheadedness, random spots of diminished eyesight, and lack of appetite. Now so far I am only in 35 hours, and that's not that long to go without eating. I am also fidning my smoking habit greatly reduced, Have yet to determine the cause for this. Now, I gathered some base readings from Cosy, and His reports are contrary to mine, which shows the individual effects.

Cosy prefers drinks of a neutral nature, I.e water and tea, no natural stimulants, just basic liquids for survival. Me, I amd desiring Caffeinedie free or Diet Soda, His eating habits changed to fruits, Mine has stopped completely. As for entertainment, he took to Watching Anime more often, Me, I am watching less and listening to music, He has also stated he was sensitive to the dark and preferred the light, as for me, I have my Blinds and Shades drawn and am getting a headache from the light outside. As for Paranoia or heightened senses, his sense of touch became sensitive, whereas mine is taste, my soda tastes completely different, again, I'm noticing a pattern between ours: We are affected in areas that require stimulation, I am currently experiencing hallucinations due to staring at my phone all this time, whereas he experienced Audio hallucinations, due to lack of hearing stimulation, the anime provided enough visual stimulation to 'Feed' his optic sensors whereas mine are dulled, My audio hallucinations are non-existent, due to listening to music.

One key factoachr is this, Depending on your habits, which might change, lack of sleep can not only mentally affect you, but physically as well. What am I trying to achieve with this? Well as Professor Stein once Said 'My motive is simpler, experimentation and observation, that's what a true scientist cares about, and I am a scientist. Everything in this world is a test subject, Myself included.' I firmly believe a true scientists will subject themselves to experiments before anything else. But I am also doing this for those of you who claim Not Sleeping isn't harmful or it doesn't affect you. True it may not completely debilitate you, but it can be harmful if done excessively.

Please stay tuned as I will be updating every 3 hours. Thank you and Join me in my decent intomadnes Madness!

Hour 40, So far I feel normal, nothing to really report..I will say My courage has diminished and my temper is non-existent. But, I do get to talk to some fascinating people.

Audio and Visual stimulations are normal, no hallucinations, no sensitivity. That's all for now.

Hour... 43? 44? Let's go with 44 since the last was almost 41. Anyway, Cosy pointed out a few things which I feel are necessary to address:

The reason our afflictions were much different were due to our Diets, Possibly even our regions, the temperature, Maybe even a Biological reason. Now, One trait we exhibit is at 17 hours (Just recently tonight) He experienced a headache, at 17 hours I also had experienced a slight headache, now this could just be a coincidence or a deep rooted reflex to alarm you as to inform your body the brain is in pain, I am on the fence. Now, at this nearly 50 hour mark, I am experiencing no Abnormal side effects. I'd say the ONLY thing I have is heavy-ish eyes, my sigh isn't blurry and everything else is fine. Let's hope this doesn't turn into a flop.

And thanks to everyone for your support! Be sure to monitor this journey of mine, set to end in... um... five days. Yeah.

hour 47, If I'm correct. So far, Not much more to report. I'm calmer then ever, I'm finding things to be.. Easier to handle, less stressful, slight pressure on my forehead, eyes are no longer heavy, I even took to talking to/fucking with myself, I mean that's a mental affliction probably caused by the sleep deprivation, stimuli needed to compensate for what I'm lacking, I am now on my first cup of coffee for the day as it is nearly 1am here. So, that's it for now.

welp, this one is short and hour 50, milestone achieved! Anyway, I'm noticing an improvement in the speed of my thought processes as well as my analytic skills, my hand eye co-ordination has seemed to.. well, Rise. I'm typing faster than normal, yet, I'm not doing anything differently. WEEEE!! Also, I feel as if I am high on some narcotic, only an initial feeling, I'll let it seep in. Now, My appetite has risen and my stomach will not be satisfied. Right now, I can feel my body becoming light, almost limp, contradicting certain feelings and events that are going on. No new details or updates about anything other than my decreased thirst, And my habit changed from Water to soda, usually never happens this early/late. But, it might be due to an internal instinct for Stimuli and the caffeine is suplimenting my lack of sleep for energy restoration.

stay tuned for more!

Bananas are yummy and full of potassium.

Hour 63: Now, I think the serious effects are kicking in. Now, my memory is getting fuzzy as heck, my thought processes have slowed And my body is slowing down as well, cognitive functions are not as good as they previously were. Second cup of coffee and I'm slowly starting to feel a littl bit of a second wind, Almost halfway through! ... I'm probably gonna sleep for a good 24 hours.

Hour 69 (nearly) My recognition of words is diminished, As in, I am not catching errors, my fingers are twitching randomly (Muscle spasms) My temper is fluctuating, I'll be calm and collected one moment and the next I'll be experiencing easy irritiablity, be driven into deep thoughts about my life that I would otherwise normally block out. My energy is still at a full range (seemingly) and I am nicely enjoying a third cup of coffee, my second wind has yet to hit me, and now for evaluation:

The reasoning behind my mood swings could possibly be attributed to my deceptive energy level, my energy could in fact be depleted and as such, my tolerance for certain things is near zero, as for my muscle spasms, they have yet to rest and so are barely working, signals are misfiring in the synapses of my brain and causing short circuits and false data to send, my mentality is also taking a blow in this nearing the three day mark. My energy could be full, but, I highly doubt it since I am desperately craving apples (thanks GG) and Bananas (Thanks Yuri) and I desire more coffee but I cannot break my guidelines as it would jeopardize my findings and taint the testing I have already done. Next update in five hours.

Well hour.. um... 79? I think. Anyway, new things have arisen such as memory lapses, failure to properly clarify what I'm saying, although my grammar is good, my wording is poor. Aside from that, a raging headache has snuck up on me, I have taken to watching the same movie Wreck-It Ralph, maybe the colorful scenery? I don't know, my diet has completely vanished, i'm drinking soda now, that's it. Tylenol doesn't help the headaches, probably took too many. So far, it's hell and I'm only halfway through. Although, I do experience multiple moments of clarity where I can develop new skills and what not. I recently added a few tricks to my arsenal, which most likely will never be used.

Overall, I'm tired as hell.
